Event - Bridge Club
Founded in 2008 by Rotarians Hal Levy, Eric Cohen, Lewis Woolf and their wives Roslyn, Bev and Debbie, the Bridge Club at St. John's Toorak is a popular tuesday night event for keen players from the district, and new players are always welcome.
The Club engages professional bridge director Miriam Tencer to run the night and to email results early next morning.
Thanks to our kind sponsors, Brumbys of 795 Glenhuntly Road Caulfield, Phillipas of 1030 High Street Armadale, Fleischer Cakes or 96 Glenferrie Road Malvern and Aviv Cakes of 412 Glenhuntly Road Elsternwick a delicious supper is served at the conclusion of play.
Players of varying skills level meet at 7.30pm to enjoy the competition and friendship, and the money raised ($14 per player for 10 hands and supper) supports the Alfred Hospital, the Royal Children's Hospital, St. Kilda Mums and Rotary International's initiative Polio Plus aimed at eradicating polio in the world.
Over $50,000 has been raised by the Bridge Club, and it is now one of the main sponsors of the Alfred Hospital Foundation.
