Content about beginners guide to confronting homelessness
Our Club is truly "the heart of the community" and is part of the Stonnington "Communities That Care" board, the local "Working Together Network" and is usually the first service or volunteer group contacted for help by the managers at the Horace Petty Housing estate or Stonnington Youth Services. We work with Star Health to provide mobility aids to disadvantaged local people, we enjoy a wonderful relationship with Prahran Freemasons who provide their hall to us for our weekly "Rotary Sews" classes. Our Club hosted a community forum "Beginners' Guide to Confronting Homelessness" that involved the Sacred Heart Mission, Prahran Mission, Kids Under Cover, Salvation Army and Prahran Police and we have maintained our close working relationship with VicPol through our Rotary Police Mentorship and their volunteers at our Homework Club at the Horace Petty Estate.
Rotary Club of Prahran hosted 110 guests at a breakfast forum on 5th February, hearing from an expert panel about homelessness, it's causes, prevention & solutions.
