Investing in Youth for Leadership AND Science!

"Over the past two years, the Rotary club of Prahran has sponsored me to attend two brilliant programs, RYPEN (Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment for youth leadership) and the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF). Through RYPEN I learnt about types of leadership, how to be the best leader in a variety of circumstances, how to work in a team, and how to communicate efficiently. There was a real emphasis on the 'growing individual' and through the program participants were encouraged to recognise and explore their limits and learn how to safely expand them expand. Meanwhile on the NYSF I was exposed to like-minded students and professionals who are the top in their field. Students participate in a number of lab visits, forums, debates and engage with a number of prestigious guest speakers including Dr. Robert Landau, leading researcher at CERN and the 2013 Prime Minster's Award for Science recipient, Professor Tony Speed. The NYSF strives to provide students with unique experiences and opportunities that are not offered elsewhere. I am truly grateful to Prahran Rotary and their ongoing support.
These two remarkable experiences have taught invaluable lessons that cannot be gained elsewhere and the opportunities presented to me grow continuously because of them."
