Farewell to our President Claude Ullin
Our Rotary Prahran President Claude Ullin passed away on sunday 20th August, two months short of his 80th birthday but after over 40 years of dedicated service to Rotary.

Never before have Australian Rotarians marched behind a Rotary Club banner at a gay pride march, but on January 28th 2018 members from Prahran, Southbank, Melbourne South, Bendigo, Daylesford & other clubs showed their support for their LGBTIQ members, friends, family members and the strong Rotary philosophy around diversity and inclusion!

Rotary Aiding Mobility Program provides wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, over-toilet seats and more to people unable to afford to buy them. Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Community Nurses and carers are invited to select suitable equipment, free of charge, for their clients.

Finding even basic work in hospitality takes training and without a Safe Food Handling Certificate, residents of the Horace Petty Estate in Prahran can neither look for jobs in the many local cafes and restaurants that Prahran is famous for, OR host their fellow residents at events to showcase their home country cuisines.
Nine ladies, from Tibet, Vietnam, Fiji, Ethiopia and Australia gained their certificates from NMIT (Prahran Polytechnic) trainer Amanda over a 2 day course on 1st and 8th December.

When Toorak Primary School put out a call for help with classroom reading, the Rotary Club of Prahran rallied, and since 2013, Club members have helped improve individual children's reading abilities and their learning outcomes.
